As Summer ends the chance for rain increases. With the rain comes the increased potential for pollutants to be swept into City storm drains, making their way to our local waterways. The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that contaminants such as fertilizers, household chemicals, motor oil, paints, pet waste, solvents, yard waste and more are washing into stormwater runoff causing over half of the pollution in our nation’s waterways.
