On Sunday, December 10th, from 8:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m., the City of Willamina E Street Pump Station experienced a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) into Willamina Creek. This occurred due to a large amount of rain falling in a short amount of time and the pumps were unable to keep up with the high demand. The City has an auxiliary pump for events such as these, however, it was already deployed at the Washington Street Pump Station. The overflow leaked 257,606 gallons into Willamina Creek. The Oregon Emergency Response System, DEQ, and City of Sheridan have been notified.
